She began her clinical career working at Harlem United, a community mental health center, with clients triply diagnosed with HIV/AIDS, substance use disorders and mental illness. Following this, she spent four years at The Jewish Board as part of a multi-disciplinary team working with adolescents, adults, couples, and families managing mood, anxiety, substance use, and personality disorders. Additionally, she facilitated a weekly support group for parents, siblings, and spouses in families suffering from the effects of addiction and mental illness at The Hazelden Betty Ford Foundation. Most recently, Courtney worked as a family therapist at Freedom Institute, a renowned outpatient, substance-abuse treatment and recovery center that uniquely combines intensive outpatient programming with a family systems approach. Here she worked with adolescents, young adults, adults, and their families.
